Explore Alaska’s winter splendor with an experienced local guide. With a little expert advice, it’s easy to enjoy this popular winter sport. Trek through old-growth boreal forests to a spectacular viewpoint offering views of the Alaska Range, where we’ll look for Denali, North America’s highest peak. Search for stories in the snow – tracks made by the area’s abundant wildlife – and take home a healing salve made from native plants. This tour includes water, hot chocolate, a delicious homemade treat, ski poles, overshoes, and snowshoes. Each trip will be tailored to the interests of our guests and current weather conditions. Participants should possess an average fitness level.

Trip Details
Notes: Includes hot chocolate, a delicious homemade treat, ski poles, overshoes, and snowshoes. Winter boots recommended. Dress in layers, and be prepared for varying weather conditions. Routes may vary due to trail and weather conditions. We provide the snowshoes, Neo over-boots if needed and poles.
Length of trip: 3 hours. Tour durations and departure times are flexible, however, depending on guests’ schedules.
Meeting place: Meet in front of the Talkeetna Roadhouse in downtown Talkeetna
Schedule: February through April. Departure times are flexible, but mid-day is the warmest.
Price: $108 per person. Minimum 2 persons (or pay for 2).
