Look for loons and kingfishers on the lakes and moose and bears in the woods. This lush old-growth forest is alive with songbirds, wildflowers, berries, and mushrooms. Your local guide will tell you stories about wildlife encounters, life in Talkeetna, and how native people survived in this wild land. The fresh air, exercise, and healthy homemade snack will renew and invigorate you. This is a great trip in any weather.
Trip Details
Length of Trip: 2½-3 hours
Terrain and Gear: Hike is 3 miles on an established trail. Wear sturdy shoes. Bring rain gear, bottled water and dress for current weather conditions. Rain gear, day packs, and trekking poles are provided if needed.
Time: 6:00pm (Pick up at Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, from downtown Talkeetna, or meet us at the trail-head.)
